Dr. James Hoffman, DO FAAEM Medical Director
Dr. Hoffman is a board-certified emergency medicine physician since 2015. He has a special interest in advanced laser resurfacing, ultrasound-guided treatments, risk management, and education. He has completed preceptorships in advanced deep laser resurfacing for skin rejuvenation. He is certified in injectables as well.
Dr. Hoffman enjoys snowboarding, being outdoors, and spending time with his family.
Theresa Hoffman, PA-C Owner & Advanced Injectables
Theresa Hoffman is a certified Physician Assistant and founder of Coastal Aesthetics. She completed her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA in 2014 and entered the Aesthetic field in 2017 with a focus on injectables and various skin treatments. She worked in both Medspas and Plastic Surgery until 2021 when she decided to open her own clinic with a focus on natural results and preventative aging through injectables and advanced laser treatments. During her time as an owner, she has grown in her skill set, attended national trainings with some of the top injectors and aesthetic specialists in the country, and even offers trainings to newer injectors entering the field of aesthetic medicine. She is a KOL (Key Opinion Leader) and Luminary with Sciton technology. Her treatment goals are to provide a comprehensive care plan to provide natural results and youthful aging. She is married with 3 young daughters and loves living in this coastal community.
Halyn Blackburn, RN – Advanced Injectables
Halyn Blackburn is a licensed registered nurse with over 2 years of experience in aesthetic medicine. Halyn is currently in the family nurse practitioner program at Walden University and is expected to graduate in 2025. After completing her initial training and certification in advanced injectables and mesotherapy, she maintains her commitment to ongoing education. Her primary objective is to master the most effective techniques, prioritizing patient safety and the achievement of natural results. What truly sets Halyn apart from other injectors is her love for attending workshops, seminars, and private training with some of the industry’s best injectors. In an industry where trends and techniques are ever-changing, Halyn stands out as a true innovator and a provider who sets the highest standards for herself. Her passion for commitment to ongoing education makes her a trusted partner in helping clients look and feel their best, reflecting the very essence of beauty and self-confidence.
She is a devoted mom of two, who enjoys spending time at the beach with her family.
Jennifer Wiles, PA-C
Jennifer is a Certified Physician Assistant since 2002. Jen is our certified laser specialist and enjoys combining a variety of laser treatments, microneedling, chemical peels, and advanced skincare to help patients achieve healthy skin. She understands there can be some level of intimidation starting a journey in aesthetic care and she is passionate about providing a warm and welcoming experience. Jen takes pride in providing a natural result with personal attention to every patient’s unique beauty. She is married with three children. Jen enjoys running, biking, boating, and spending time with family!
Alex Engberg, Licensed Esthetician
Alex is a licensed esthetician. She is originally from Nebraska and moved to Wilmington in 2021. Skincare has been her passion since before she could even drive a car. Alex is also a bridal makeup artist and believes that the perfect base for good makeup is healthy skin. she is dedicated to helping her clients feel the most confident and healthy versions of themselves. she has a small dog named Ducky June who loves the beach almost as much as Alex.
Meghan Adams – Clinical Coordinator
Originally from Raleigh, NC, Meghan graduated from Western Carolina University with a MBA as well as a BS in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing. After college she began her career in the aesthetics industry, working for some of the industry leaders. With over 12 years of experience, she brings with her not only the treatment knowledge but also a passion for helping clients achieve their aesthetic goals. In her spare time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, shopping, and live music.
